"2008 Teacher of the Year"
In conjunction with his illustrious 30-year career as an international performing artist, William Neill has become a highly prominent and enormously respected vocal pedagogue and specialist in role preparation - equally comfortable working with all voice types (soprano, mezzo, counter-tenor, tenor, baritone, bass). A significant number of his students enjoy active careers and appear regularly with opera companies and symphony orchestras the world over. Many are Metropolitan Opera artists.
Bill’s vast experience and obvious success as a builder, organizer and coordinator of internationally recognized vocal and opera programs have earned him the unqualified respect of colleagues and professional musical institutions of higher learning – his expertise and wise counsel are much sought after. Though definitely maintaining his New York City studio, comprised primarily of fully established professional and emerging artists, he also agreed to accept a tenured professorship serving as “Chair of the Vocal Area” at the University of Oklahoma, which started in September of 2008. |
