Among the highlights and happiest memories of my performing career is the entire experience of a 1982 Miami Opera production of Carlisle Floyd’s OF MICE AND MEN with the composer himself as stage director and Brent Ellis, one of my closest friends, performing the role of George to my Lennie.  On opening night, we were thrilled when Carlisle presented each of us with a favorite page from his wonderful score that he had taken the time to write out in his own manuscript.
